Joshua Greene is a writer, editor and media professional based in western Massachusetts. A summer resident of the Berkshires from an early age, he returned there during breaks from college to work in wine shops and, later, as wine captain at Wheatleigh, in Lenox. After graduating from Princeton, Greene pursued a career in special-interest magazines. His work with Wine & Spirits Magazine began on a consulting basis in 1984, eventually leading to his purchase of the magazine in 1989.

In addition to his duties as editor and publisher for Wine & Spirits, Greene served as the magazine’s critic for Napa Valley, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Portugal, Rioja and Australia. His travels and writing have focused particularly on those regions, as well as on Chile. Among his activities, he produced and hosted video projects; developed and reported on survey research. As publisher, he oversaw strategic planning, managed the sales and marketing staff, and directed an events team that produced several wine and food events a year, including the Wine & Spirits Top 100.
In 2024, as the pandemic came to a close, so did Wine & Spirits. Now Greene is the Trade General Manager of JancisRobinson.com, working on projects from educational opportunities to membership development and events. He serves as secretary on the executive committee of the Wild & Scenic Westfield River Association, where he works to check the spread of invasive species, and to disseminate information about the group’s environmental stewardship.
In addition to managing a garden for winter sustenance (potatoes, tomatoes, alliums, apples and berries), Greene and his partner, Amy Loveless, continue the restoration of an 18th century homestead which he began three decades ago. They share their home with Teo, an Italian-born flat-coated retriever mix, and Little Sister, a Maine coon cat.
